Delivering Compassion Since 1975

Shelby County Meals on Wheels provides nutritious, home-delivered meals so our residents remain in their own homes longer.

Nutrition Focused

Meals on Wheels ensures physician-directed, special diet recommendations are followed by Major Health Partners dietitian and staff. We provide wellness checks each day to make sure participants are okay.

Here for the Community

Shelby County Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit organization under the direction of a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of interested citizens concerned with the welfare and well-being of others.

Locally and Self-Supported

Meals on Wheels is supported by SCUFFY as well as donations from organizations, estates, and interested individuals. Meals on Wheels is a self-supporting community funded service and does not receive any government funding.

Senior Serving Story

“Nellie” is a client of Meals on Wheels and lives alone. Her family had noticed she was losing weight as her daily intake consisted mostly of cereal, cheese and crackers and peanut butter. There were no vegetables and not much protein in her diet. Her daughter, who lives out of state, called to check about MOW and was delighted that her mom could receive meals. Recently, one of our volunteers asked Nellie how things were going, and she said she had gained some weight back and was feeling much better. Both Nellie and her daughter are surprised and thrilled about how MOW has changed her quality of life.
